Existential BIM

Welcome to the Collaborative Revolution!

I got a kick out of Randy Deutsch's latest post on BIM.  In it he argues for the "existence of BIM" and lists 36 reasons.  The post is sadly accurate.  We need to continue to press forward.

Personally, I think one of the main reasons adoption of IPD, BIM and Lean business processes have slowed is that the economy itself has slowed.  Many projects that are going forward are public projects - which do not lend themselves to use of IPD, BIM or Lean processes - and sans projects demanding use of these tools few are investing the time and effort required to deploy them effectively.  I do believe as the economy comes back IPD, BIM and Lean business processes will be critical to those seeking to compete in an improving economy.
